I.D.L.A. FAQ's:
Q: How can IDLA meet student needs? A: By taking an accredited course through IDLA, students can experience online learning and attend class when it is most
convenient. IDLA courses enable students to take a class not available on campus, make up lost credit, amend a scheduling conflict, participate in athletics,
or meet individual student needs. Q: What are the qualifications of the IDLA faculty? A: All IDLA faculty are Idaho-certified teachers, and
many have additional degrees including Masters, Doctorates, and Educational Specialists. Faculty who teach AP or dual credit courses have additional AP training
and/or meet the requirements by the universities for advanced coursework in the content area. Q: How do students interact online? A: There are multiple ways students interact online
which include: student to content, student to teacher, and student to student. IDLA teachers are involved in all stages of an online course, providing feedback
on assignments and assessments. Our goal is student learning and success! Q: Are textbooks provided? A: IDLA provides online textbooks for the majority of content areas and provides access to Libraries Linking
Idaho (LiLI-D). In cases where an online textbook is unavailable, the local school district may be responsible to provide the required text(s) according to school district policy.
Please refer to the IDLA website for detailed information about required materials. Q: Are courses accredited? A: IDLA is fully accredited through the State of Idaho and the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. The
local school district transcribes the credit and grants diplomas. Q: Can courses be completed anytime? A: All IDLA courses have scheduled start and end dates and are offered in a 9
or 16 week format.
During each semester there are staggered start dates to accommodate districts using a semester or trimester schedule.
